| First Ultrasound - 18 Weeks |
| Here are four pictures from our first ultrasound, July 10th. (July 10th was also Kirsten's Mom's birthday, and she got to come along to get a peek at her first grandchild!) Everything looked good. The baby is between 5-6 inches (crown to rump) and has a healthy heart, brain, stomach, bladder, and spine! The placenta is right where it should be as well. As the technician was performing the ultrasound, the baby kept turning his/her face away. When we did get a glimpse, the baby was opening its mouth. The tech said "Well, I can't tell the sex, but we'll say she's a girl for fun because she is talking already!" She was only joking, of course, because WE ARE NOT finding out the sex of the baby! :) |

| Second Ultrasound - 23 Weeks |
Here are four pictures from our second ultrasound. Baby Kenny is 23 weeks, 2 days in these pictures. S/he is 1.6lbs., about a foot long (12 in.), and measures in the 52nd percentile for growth! The brain is forming beautifully, and we got to see the four chambers of the heart working too.
On the 3-D imaging we saw the baby open its mouth again...so we think we're in for a good eater or a chatty talker! The baby covered its genitalia again, so there was no way to cheat and find out the sex. Derek still thinks it's a girl, Kirsten still thinks it's a boy. Only time will tell...
We tried to upload the 2 video clips of this ultrasound to this website, but have a different format than the one required. Therefore, we put them on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=echyCLouOVY and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfTOa1QtT84 |
